Hey Guys,
Its been a while since my last post but I hope everyone reading this is healthy and happy as we move into the six month of the year. Can you believe its June already? I mean soon we’ll be seeing Christmas décor in stores. I’m so not ready! Since our state has lifted all COVID restrictions, I’ve been seeing people in droves crowd the stores, parks, and everything in between; some masked, some not… but I admit, I kinda miss the slower pace of things. It forced us to “be still” and enjoy the simplicity of life, in my opinion anyway. I loved taking the time to learn new things and to observe what was happening around me.
Contrary to COVID, I met tons of wonderful people in my neighborhood by just walking my dog. It was fun getting to know them, from a distance of course. For instance, an older woman on my block just received her Scuba Diving certification. How cool is that? Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share a few things about me that you may not know.
- I am very INDECISIVE
It’s true. I cannot make a decision and stick with it without second guessing myself. I have to view decisions from every.single.angle before making one. This works for me as well as against me. It drives my husband absolutely nuts. Even if I’m choosing colors for dishes, I have to view at least ten more choices before settling.
2. I LOVE to travel
Traveling relaxes and stresses me at the same time, haha! Because of my indecisiveness it makes choosing a location a bit difficult but because I love to research new places, I consider that calming. Crazy right! My favorite place to travel within the U.S. is San Diego. I will be traveling to Jamaica in a few months and I’m uber excited.
3. I am a FOODIE
Its no secret that I LOVE to eat. If a new restaurant opens in my area, I’m there. I love trying new things but certain restaurants, I tend to order the same thing over and over because its that good, kinda contradictory I suppose to being a foodie but I love eating, photographing my food and writing about it. My current favorite dish that I’m crushing on at the moment is a crab roll that I had at a small place in Washington, D.C. I don’t think my palate has tasted anything like it…EVER. The crab meat was plentiful, the bun was buttery and toasted and the taste was spectacular.
4. I HATE horror movies
I am a terrified when it comes to horror movies. I don’t care if its just a commercial, I cover my eyes when it comes on. I cannot turn off my brain to stop thinking about those movies when its bedtime. Its mainly those paranormal-based on a true story- type movies that I cannot do. I watched The Exorcist as a child, unbeknownst to my Mom, and have been scarred ever since.
5. I am not a big drinker
I am a true lightweight. If I have two glasses of wine, I’m out for the count. My friends would always tease me about this, as they would sip on their drinks, I would have a cherry Pepsi in hand. My husband also calls me a boring drunk, mainly because after one full glass of wine, I like to be ALONE…..watching tv while falling asleep. I have no shame in this!
6. I am a true country girl
I’m talking dirt road, old school mud pies, bare feet on grass type of country girl. I love my southern roots- especially the cooking. I love all things spicy and I add hot sauce to everything, even eggs! We honk our car horns driving past homes and say “Y’all” every chance we get…..and who doesn’t love fried squash?!!?!!
7. My favorite childhood movie is Sixteen Candles
I can seriously watch this movie over and over again. I imagined my high school years being similar to that in the movie. I was a bit more extroverted than Molly Ringwald but still introverted like her in certain social settings and who could forget foreign exchange student, Long Duc Dong, Hilarious!
Well, that’s a bit about me. I’m a fairly uncomplicated-complicated person. I’d love to hear a few things about you.

It’s great to see a new blog from you. 🙂 Two things we have in common – I also love food and love to travel. Make that 3 because I’m often indecisive as well.
